Blame OPML

It's not a proper format anyway.

Trout OS X 1.5 is out and I'm happy to announce that there's now OPML support.

Ask any XML developer and they will mention loose standards and XSLT but for the time being OPML seems to be supported by enough people so it will do.

Both import and export are supported.

Just go to File > Export > OPML  or File > Import > OPML

It's best to import into a fresh map but that's not mandatory.

With export there's one thing to note which is that only child links are  followed. Those are the ones with the coloured outline. Right click on a link to change it from dependency to child. Dependencies are ignored. Basically only a strict tree is followed.

This map has child links with a dark outline. It will export all nodes to OPML

This map has dependency links. Only the red centre node  will export

Drop me a line if it's giving you issues and I'll try and sort the issue out

I'm working on getting this into the iPad app to but I've busted up my shoulder bouldering and have to cut back on the coding for a bit.

The other major fix was that Freemind export should be working for v0.9.0 again.
